(HoldMyGuns.org) – Hold My Guns®, a liberty-based organization dedicated to providing voluntary firearm storage and protecting the rights of gun owners, is announcing a temporary strategic pause of some operations. During this pause, the organization will continue to offer voluntary firearm storage through its existing FFL partners, ensuring this essential service remains available to the firearms community.
This pause, approved by the Hold My Guns® Board of Directors on October 21st, comes in response to broader economic challenges and uncertainties surrounding the upcoming presidential election, both of which have affected grassroots fundraising efforts not only for Hold My Guns® but also for nonprofits across the nation. This strategic pause will allow for the conservation of resources while we evolve our strategy and explore new growth opportunities.
Hold My Guns® will actively pursue fundraising pledges and sponsorships during this operational pause in preparation for a strong relaunch following the presidential election. These fundraising efforts will position Hold My Guns® to advance with increased focus and stronger resources, ensuring ongoing support for the firearms community and the safeguarding of individual rights. Donations to Hold My Guns®, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will remain tax-deductible where allowed by law.
During the pause, some key activities will be put on hold or limited, including:
- Onboarding new FFL partners
- Attending events unless expenses, such as travel and booth space rental, are donated
- Printing materials and advertising
- Non-critical email, messenger responses, and some social media posting
Focus Areas During the Pause:
Refining Strategy and Rebranding:
With the mission of creating a voluntary firearms storage process accomplished—and Hold My Guns’® work driving ATF regulatory changes in July 2023 allowing any FFL to offer storage—Hold My Guns® will take the opportunity to focus on rebranding to emphasize what sets it apart. With liberty as its core value, HMG partners and their customers can trust the organization is committed to saving lives, protecting property, and preserving rights. HMG partners are well-known for exceptional customer service. They utilize customer-facing agreements that protect customer privacy and property, while ensuring a smooth storage process and reducing liability to the FFL. HMG partners are actively engaged in their communities. Hold My Guns® is a brand that loves guns, loves our community, and loves liberty. It equips firearm owners to have agency and practice self-governance, championing the firearms community as a protective factor.
Exploring New Strategic Partnerships and Sponsors:
The operational pause will provide valuable time to explore and cultivate new opportunities for strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and business development. Hold My Guns® is committed to forging alliances with like-minded organizations, both within the firearms community and the larger liberty community, that share our dedication to serving gun owners and preserving liberty. These efforts will increase protective factors, expand access to vital resources, and strengthen our collaborative impact, all while fostering long-term sustainability.
Advocating for Firearms Owners and FFLs:
Hold My Guns® will continue its advocacy for regulatory changes to increase access to voluntary firearms storage. This includes addressing obstacles such as the federal pistol transfer ban for adults aged 18-20, which makes custodial storage of pistols illegal for an age group prone to experiencing transitional times. Additionally, Hold My Guns® will address bans on firearms and accessories that criminalize and fine FFLs for providing storage of these items, as well as address the $200 tax stamp and reapplication requirement for NFA items placed in storage.
